Spent some quality time with some friends yesterday
Celebrated Riaan's love for Nkuku and had 2 of them on the spinning dingus over some lovely coals
One was a PeriPeri and the other one was a Jack Daniel's basting
Enjoyed it with a properste bottle of our country's finest Merlot (after a couple of Belgian beers of course)

Saturday Afternoon, so Time It Are!

    Even though
    1. the braai had a sense of humor collapse - actually a "the bottom of the braai murred out when I loaded the wood due to rust" collapse,
    2. So the pensioned off round black dingus with(out) a lid got kitted with an old '39 Chevy truck's rim with an old "ploegskaar in it and

Only Mad Dogs, definitely not Englishmen and a Tesselaarsdal Rock Spider will flash up the braai in this!

This picture taken perzacketally 12 min after the 1st. Methinks thanks to the South Easter blowing like a forge, this braai is gonna be heavier on wood than my Patrol on petrol...

So I deconstructed some proppa swasage and mixed in a finely diced half onyon and chopped sage from the gadin. Seasoned with cumin, salt, minced galic and black pepper.

I then recomstructed the swasage mix in anti-CIA hat making material to form a roll and twisted the ends to form a cracker.

This went into the black dingus with the knoppies en goeders for an hour at 190c. Remove, check for firmness and leave to rest for 30 minutes.

While the reconstructed swasage was resting, I took some puff pastry, rolled up the edges, made them purty with a fork and then spread basil and garlic pesto over it. Over that I crumbled some feta and grated parmasan. Into the same dingus at 200c for 35 to 40 minutes.

While that was tchuning, lettice and basil from the garden was rolled up and sliced to mak ribons to which cucumber was added.

A sliced avo with lemon juice was added to finish off a very nice summer evening supper.

    Cheers
