Default Suzuki Jimny dual battery system, anyone done one?

A friend has asked me to do a dual battery system on his Jimny, any info or advice from anyone who has done one would be appreciated.

I plan on using the National Luna system, same as I have on my Toyota.

Not National Luna but I think a very nice system (and expensive). Utilizes unused space and space is at a premium in a Jimny
I am busy replicating this build but things are going slowly

I installed the National Luna system in my Dad's 2015 Jimny.
    No issues.

    Hi,

I havent even looked at the Jimny yet but first question comes to mind, where did you place the second battery?

On my old system I built a bracket that fitted behind the passenger seat. The front bolted to the seat rail bolts and the back to the drawer system. The first pictures shows mark 1 which held a 70Ah battery and the second picture shows a larger bracket to hold a 105Ah battery. Canít find pictures of the fitted bracket and battery.

The only downside of fitting the battery in the rear footwell is that it pushed the passenger seat forward a bit so this may be a problem if you have a tall passenger

I don't think the national luna caters for lithium ion batteries.......before you know it, you may have one, and then will have to replace. And LiOn don't like heat. I used to have the aux battery in the bonnet, but it was really only used on a trip once or twice a year. I now take it out and leave it on an intelligent charger and it then goes in the boot nearer to the fridge. Have a look at the victron orion dc to dc which can go in the bonnet, is also IP67 rated and liOn and then run cable to the back seat...

Did a second battery and inverter install on a Mahindra Thar for a retired guy. National Luna unit. He cant stop raving about it. Haven't got round to doing it in my Prado. Never even had time during lock down. Look af it logically and it should work out fine.
