Hello again everyone,
The engine is running, now I'd like to move my Unimog to a more convenient location.
I've read on this forum how crucial it is to replace the Hub Seals and that'll probably be my next step.
Where would I be able to purchase hub seals for a 416? Or do they come in a size that's universal, that I could buy from anywhere?
Any advice is greatly appreciated![]()

We've got a customer that sources his Unimog parts from R21 Truck & Plant

You can get them from MBSA.
Call Sandown in Centurion and ask to be connected to Nardus.
Make sure you seat them correctly. Pedantic buggers.
Thanks Mogster!
I'll give them a call tomorrow.
I've heard they have to be inserted...perfectly. Any other tips for inserting them?
Never use a hamer or such thing to tap them in going around the seal.
There is a special tool, looks like a big cup, seats it with pressure when tapping in, all around at once.
Thing is, if it leaks after seating, it is stuffed. You can dump it in the bin.
And leaking hubs can cause gear failure if going unchecked.
Aah thanks - I'll be on the lookout for a tool like that.
Another thing - Are the hub seals for the front and the back the same?
