Lewis very lucky, he had contact on that wing at the second restart and then again in contact with Max.

Either could be a broken wing.

(And there Toto says the same).

Not a track for F1 racing but I’ll say this:- Max Vertwatten is going to kill someone one day.

IIRC, Max has not driven into someone, unlike Lulu did at Silverstone

Funny how many on here are in awe of the greats of the past for their pure racing spirit and guts, but then hate on Max for showing such traits...

But having said that, I think it's exactly the composure of Lewis which will win this championship. Hoping for Max, but reality is Lewis.

It seems that Lulu was slowing down behind Max to gain advantage from that DRS detection zone…. So who is the guilty one here? Seems Lulu misjudged himself.

A bit strange imho, but both Toto and Christian were quite a bit more humble and magnanimous during the interviews than they have been before.

Almost as if they both saw the dark side and realised that both teams need to calm down a bit to bring back some sanity to the sport.

No surprises, again all the Max fans here think it's Lewis fault, and all the Lewis fans here think it's Max's fault.

Are there any objective people left in the world?
I would like to think that I'm objective, but clearly I can't be, as again, it seemed like Max brake-tested Lewis. And I can't be right every time.

This just proves once again, that it's quite normal, and that the stewards need to see the incidents, de-identified....

We're all so biased and we can't even see it.

Let’s hope that the Stewards are not biased cos they’re grilling Vertwatten right now.
We do not want this championship to be decided by Stewards.

Where on earth do you get this from? The only driver this year who nearly killed someone was Lulu who nearly killed MV in Silvertone.

Equal points for the last race.

Could not have scripted it better!

Absolute old bull vs young bull.

The aggression and pure ability is now ON max side. The wily old bull that have been challenged before and who can find that balance between raw talent, aggression and care is now here.

    Max will beat Lewis sometime.
Next week I still give to Lewis.

    What an emotional roller-coaster.

You cannot but appreciate both drivers efforts!

I will be sad for whoever loses now.
In my dreams! Amarok v6 and FJ.

Another 10 sec penalty for Max (and 2 penalty points) for brake testing Lewis. He was found to have applied 69 bar brake pressure which resulted in 2.4g deceleration.
The penalty doesn't affect his 2nd place finish, as he was far enough ahead of the Bottas - Ocon scrap.

The only reason MV crashed in Silverstone is because he was on the outside and refused to avoid contact by running wide and giving up the position. Every time LH has been on the outside of MV in similar situations he has avoided contact by surrendering the position and running wide (always well off the circuit given the aggressive nature of both of them).

At the end of the day, MV lost this race in qualifying. His steering wheel clearly showed a 0.3 negative delta going into the final corner. There was no need to push more, but his ego wanted to stamp a mega lap into the face of his rivals. He still needs to learn that you only need to do enough to win, nothing more. This is why LH confuses people and they wonder where suddenly his “speed” comes from. It’s because 95% of the time he is managing the situation and doing just enough of what’s required to win / get pole. No doubt though that this year he’s had to risk more than ever and be on the limit more than ever before as MV has arrived. If MV can start using his head more, he will win many championships that I am sure of. But he needs to learn that winning means being 1st on the last lap over the line and not before.

I fully appreciate above is my view of things and many won’t agree, that’s ok.

But what a great year of racing. Two guys hungry as hell trying to win. It’s the first time in years that F1 has produced so much debate and controversy. I’m loving it !

Seems like Max was a bit naughty, but I still fail to understand why a racing driver didn't pass his rival who was unnaturally slowing down. Name: FB_IMG_1638763741875.jpg

Seems there are more and more rules to live by, like cricket and rugby, spoiling the sport IMO ?
