    Fair comment.

What has to change to make F1 more exciting (read real racing) probably a 500 page study. My musings on F1 just that.

I would in truth embrace "pure pace wins" over "strategy wins" allday long. Hell, as far as I am concerned, ban pits-driver comms.

Let the driver do the job from the moment the lights go out. Now he becomes a warrior in pursuit of winning. The team has done their bit up to that moment - now its time for the driver to earn the stupid money he earns.

No fuel / tyre saving. Therefor I agree with you, bring back fuel stops.

But it was an unforced error, really something we had that was sitting there that could have happened at any point and it unfortunately bit us pretty hard. But we learned from the experience and we move forwards.”

Lol, but it's what you do when the heat is on, and Lewis now needs to prove that he has what it takes to win in a more than one car race.

In other words, the starting pressure was measured on a much warmer tyre, allowing them to “legally” use a lower pressure during the race. Which contributed to the tyre failure, especially given that pirelli suggested a higher starting pressure after practise rounds.
Tyre pressure telemetry is monitored full time by FIA. They have to comply at all times to stipulated tyre pressure regs.

    Have to agree.

What also stands out is how it is now "we" and "our" errors, but last time in Monaco the errors were all the team's fault.

But it was an unforced error, really something we had that was sitting there that could...

What I do not understand (besides woman, speed limits, teenagers, Covid, neighbours incessantly barking dogs, the Illuminati and so on), why would Pirelli, as a single supplier, even begin to produce tyres that are anywhere near marginal. The only entity they have to "beat" is themselves, which they seem to have achieved. I still call BS on all their "explanations". They messed up, end of story. Move on Pirelli.

Anyone can explain why Mercedes swapped chassis between Hamilton and Bottas? Is it experimental or does new upgrades work differently on Bottas's car and they swapped it? I think this might be a talking point.
