It would seem from various articles surfacing today that the Mattia rumour is just that - a rumour and a false one at that.

It brings a bit of peace to my soul, recently disturbed when the rumours started, but I just know there are better people out there than Mattia when it comes to being a TEAM PRINCIPAL. Technically he is up there with the best.

I am however convinced he knew exactly what happend with "fuelgate" - how can he not have? And that bothers me.

Alonso got a new boss meanwhile.

define skill... if its the ability to balance a car on the limit of adhesion in a well practised and controlled environment then Ken has it in aces, but that specific skill has limited use in real racing. The good racing drivers have a measure of natural speed, situational awareness, racing instinct and BMT. The greats are masters of all those areas.

Ok, was still in holiday mood then and left my laptop rest for most of the time.

So why is even F1 blog saying "shock reveal" in the message if it is so widely known publicly?

    Ha ha, no worries.

Not sure why they say shock reveal. Here are a few articles from way back mentioning new role in the company.

So, this morning watching "Joey" hustling a 812 Superfast around Imola, without going to Google, I was wondering:

Take any cutting-edge Supercar / Hypercar today i.e. Porsche 918, McLaren P1, Ferrari 812, Pagani Huayra etc. Their laptimes around, let's say Monza, how far back will I have to reach in history to find comparable F1 lap times? 30/40 years? More?
It will be difficult to do a direct comparison, as none of the tracks had stayed the same to enable the laptimes comparisons.

To be honest, if Valterri had any chance to take the title from Lewis, he would not be driving that car.

reminds me of Alonso, Button, Rosberg... LOL but the final one seemed to have ignored the status quo in that team and went for it.

Yes there must be some truth to this except Alonso. I am a huge Alonso fan but when he was a multiple WC and this rookie arrived there is absolutely no way they would have favored LH over Alonso. Lewis out drove Fernando and stood on his toes just like Rosberg did for 1 year to Lewis. I would have loved to see Rosberg try again, he stepped back because he knew he was lucky.

Yes I agree VB is just there to be wingman. I hope that some day we will have some competition for Lewis again, in the same car, that hope is obviously in vain.

2021 belongs to Lewis, this year is just a formality. ( runs and hides)

as said VERY few track are still the same. One of them that has not changed is the East London Grand prix circuit, in the 1963 F1 race there Jim Clark's pole lap was 1:27.2. I doubt any real road car will match that even today.

But race cars have moved on, to put that into perspective I did a 1:26 in a lotus 7 (very similar to mine) there in December, while earlier in the year a full race spec Aston Martin Vantage recorded a 1:18

It has been for ever "in development".

I imagine they are not planning to finish it any time soon.
