Awesome to hear all the thoughts and opinions and smiles these vehicles have brought to everyone. She got the Jimny in the end and is head over heels with the thing. Now it’s kitting the thing out with tents etc. I actually do quite like it. But the dog is not gonna be happy.
Thanks again all!
I can always see a place for a Jimny. One can never really “upgrade” from a Jimny. There is nothing quite like it.
Some will say SWB Rubi, but it’s not in the same class.
I got a 2 -door 2005-6 Pajero over a Jimny as it is a lot more car for your money.
5 seats for a start, more space, more power, rear diff lock...
However, I sold it as it was so sluggish, a real pain with 115bhp. Couldn't live with it.
I love the look of the new Jimny but you can no longer buy it due to emission rules; albeit you can now get it in a 2-seat commercial vehicle only design as it doesn't need to meet the emission rules. And now, the price of 2nd hand Jimnys have gone through the roof on the back of the new one.
A Panda is pretty handy but doesn't have low range. Would also be popular with the ladies, as it's 'cute'! The first generation ones up to 2001 are popular as you can use them in the Morrocan desert race. From the second generation the prices are pretty good and they seem handy off road due to their weight, plus you can get off road lift kits, etc.
