    Default Some Parys suggestions please

I'm going to this dorp this weekend, my lovely daughter is doing a 120km endurance equine race.
My wife is going with, and we will have some free time together (Me and the Wife) The little wonder of a daughter will be caught up in horsey stuff

Please suggest a nice restaurant for dinner (something classy), and one for a nice brekkie.
Maybe a cool pub for after dinner drinks (or a pub and grub affair if the classy option is not available)

O's is very nice and on the river. Mirabel Guesthouse has THE best breakfast, but I'm not sure if they cater for non-residents.

Price, and just a plain bad attitude with piss poor service.
Excessively expensive for the amount and quality of food, they have pretensions.

Was it the white gloves that put you off?

I prefer a quality over quantity experience and don't mind forking out good money for good dining experience. To me dining out is more than just the food...

But if it is purely pretentious then I dont like it either.

If they could back the price up with quality............but go have a look, maybe you love it.

And as Andrew alluded: rather don't take my advice. I'm out.

    Some feedback on the dining:

So we had dinner at "Hoi Polloi"

My wife had the duck spring roll and I the pulled pork pancake for starters, then she had the Smoked pork neck for main and I the oxtail. I had a chocolate fondant and she had a Crème Brule for purring

What I liked, and this is where some places fail, is that I could enjoy, taste and finish all of these courses without feeling like I over ate. I was pleasantly surprised, and enjoyed the eclectic menu.

I will recommend the dining here, but be sure to come for dinner, not lunch, and come to enjoy it for what it is.
It is not a steak and chips place, and although it serves artisan beer, the wines on the wine list are superbly chosen, and very reasonably priced. This is a wine drinking place..

Then the next day we had lunch at The Pickled Pig Ale House..

And loved it! The Pale Ale was moreish, and the Pulled Pork Tacos are simply fantastic!!

    I love Parys!!
