Default Re: DISGUSTED! Zambezi Multi-franchise (Renault) STOLE from my vehicle during service

I just recently discovered that my wife's Audi "stop start" battery had been swopped out for a cheap alternative.
Not sure were or when it happened? Could have been at a dealer while servicing or car wash.
Only discovered it when the "Stop/start" functionality stopped working and the cause was the battery

I have to disagree. The same principle applies to the electrician in your house who helps himself to your jewellery. Do you take action or just say it was naive to leave it in your house. Of course it is not physically possible to watch all employees but you must take responsibility for your staff otherwise we would live in a very peculiar world

It's not a generalisation, but I have seen many cars for the first service after "warranty/service plan"

The care that (some) dealers put into cars are shocking. When you service many cars, 50'000km oil and filters that have never been changed is VERY apparent.

I, for one, as an independent, despise dealers.

In my humble opinion, the number one reason for cars not lasting very long these days are solely blamed on the dealer care while under warranty/service plan..... regardless of make/model.

The clever ones are being outbred & overruled by the not so clever ones. Pair that with unchecked selfishness. We are heading for a fall!

Default POSITIVE UPDATE! Zambezi Multi-franchise (Renault) redemption

    UPDATE:
Moments ago, I received a call from the DP, Donovan (I asked for his permission to use his name for recognition and appreciation).
He has been unavailable since the incident, and having returned, has acted PROMPTLY and PROFESSIONALLY to the situation.

Feedback after reviewing CCTV footage is that the wash-bay area is the most likely problem area, and, naturally, the one area concealed from CCTV.

He has undertaken to replace the items taken. An offer which I appreciate and accept.

The bottom line is, a situation arose, which highly upset me. I had taken all the unnecessary valuables from my car, and left what I believe to be important items in the car. Sadly, someone saw an opportunity, and took something. What must also be said is that I have to drive past Silver Lakes Renault as well as Renault Menlyn, to get to Zambezi Renault. I have done this for every service since taking ownership of the vehicle. I've done this, because for the past few years, the service has been that good, that the trip is justified.

I am happy to say that the situation has been solved. I hope the dealership can now look into tightening the possible weak link in their security.
Credit must be given where it is due, for acknowledging that the situation wasn't handled in the most ideal way, but, has been addressed fairly.

Thank you again to Donovan. I have learnt a lesson, yes, and must also admit I was perhaps too trusting in this day and age.
I will be going back to that dealership when necessary, albeit, more cautiously, but nonetheless, loyal, thanks to the way this situation panned out.

Thanks to all those for their positive input.
