Default 2013 132kw Amarok manual "Clutch slipping"

    Howzit

Really hoping i can get some help with my issue.

Car runs perfect when cold with no issues. If the car has been on the open road for around 20kms or so the "clutch"starts to play up.
no matter how hot the car is 1st and 2nd have no issues what so ever from pulling off with a load or no load, you can floor it all is good.
3rd to 6th - if you put your foot flat the car just revs and the gear you are in on the dashboard vanishes, you need to back off the accelerator then it goes back to normal.
This is also not an everyday occurrence which makes it even stranger.
I have been told its the clutch then told not the clutch but the auto handbrake system?

    I hope i make sense?
    Appreciate any advice

    Thank you

Have you had it scanned to see if it has logged any faults?

How many miles on the wagon? Sounds like fluffy is right to me. I bought a kit not long ago from Goldwagen, it was around 13k from memory and then had ZF install it. Probably another 2-3k? I believe one of the guys WillemT has just done a youtube vid on the exercise.

I took at look at the size of the gearbox and t_case and decided to leave it alone. You have to drop the front engine guard plates and then work from there, but it looks tricky without a lift and gearbox jack.

    Long shot.....

Water or air in the clutch hydraulics causing the it to expand and slightly disengage the clutch?

This may be possible if the default rest position of the clutch master is not indexed correctly.

Easy and cheap to bleed as a test.

Have you bled an amarock clutch? They are the devils own work. Mine was not 100% when I went to fetch mine from ZF and they were batteling with the bleeding. I had to fetch my son, so I told them to leave it and I would sort it at home. Boy you need arms like some sort of cartoon character to reach up there and get a spanner in the right spot.

Not impossible, by a long shot, but defiantly not easy either.

    Very interesting.

Mine does exactly the same, but only in 3rd gear and intermittently.
Keen to see if you find a solution to this.

Oh, and I also have intermittent shudder on pull away.

Thats probably the dual mass flywheel on the way out. You will not realise how bad it is until you do the clutch and flywheel and see how much better it is.

    Howzit,

So had a mate of mine who's a top mobile mechanic have a look at the issue. Seems like my crank seal is leaking and its possible its contaminated the friction surface of the clutch cause it to slip when hot.

    So new clutch it is

    Thanks for all the comments
