Question 4.5 land cruisers - Consumption?

So was just reading the thread regarding Hilux GD6 2.4 etc fuel consumptions and started getting depro. 10 - 13km/l

Then started wondering what do the guys that still drive proper displacement toyota's get?

    4.5 efi or 4.5tdi

When overlanding I get 5km/l with my 105 series 4.5efi.

    Next?

What you get on your Cruiser, that is what I get with my 416 Unimog. 5 - 5.8km/l. Makes me a very happy chap.

1978 Straight six 5.7l diesel. Motorhome. Coming in at 5,5t before loading for a trip.

LC200 fully loaded with RTT and trailer gets between 5-5.5km/h but wouldn't do it in any other vehicle.

4.5 EFI double cab, last tank running around town and out to the farm etc gave me 840km on 143 litres so near as dammit to 6km per litre

Cruiser is paid off and insurance is cheap, also probably depreciated as much as it can. No way that I can justify a 2.4 being cheaper to own, I,ve got the spreadsheets to prove it

On my last tank, 4.5 V8, I got 7.9km/l. Fully loaded, with 300km of that in 4WD.

Actually more economical than the 2.4 Honda CRV, which only gave me around 7km/l

The LC gives me the same consumption regardless of whether I am running around town, open road, 4WD or towing. I recently recovered 2 BMW 1200 GSA's from Baviaanskloof. Towing the trailer with the 2 340kg bikes, part of the way in 4WD, consumption was 7.8km/l

Vehicle has been chipped with a 76mm De Graaf pipe fitted, so no DPF or cat.

    How is the mileage measured?

Not trying to start an argument, asking out of interest. Those are exceptional figures!

1994 80GX Carb model. 4.5 km/lt. Up hill, down dale, towing caravan or not. Heavily loaded all the time with drawer system, fridges & 120lt LR tank.

Although I did get 6 km/lt once chugging around KNP for a few days at 25km/hr.

Considering your tyres which are meant to be on a mining truck and the other mods on your Cruiser, that number is very good.

Mileage on the fill up record is as per the odo. GPS track records the same distance as 315.3km, so only 8km difference.

Nissan Navara v9x - Good for towing, not good for driving into trees, good bye old friend.
Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost - For the wife.
80 Series cruiser - To use the fuel I save on the other two.
    Hilux - Work mobile

No, but the bikes were packed to the hilt. Panniers, top boxes, extra dry bags, tents, etc, etc.

My 200 when towing at 100-110 best was 18.2 l/100km. Open road at 110 was 12.2l/100km. Off-road was 20 plus. My FJs are lighter!

Not sure what the standard tyres are for the 76 LC, but mine has the Maxxis Bighorn 764 265/75-16s fitted.
