Default Duster 1.5dCi 2016 front brake discs and pads

    Hi all

Please would someone point me in the right direction here. My front brake discs need replacing.

Where have you bought good quality aftermarket Renault Duster 1.5dCi 2016 discs and pads that don't break the bank?

    Hi

Bought ferodo pads from either midas or spareslink, think about R700 for the set. Sorry about 18 months ago. But they work a charm.

So I have phoned a few car parts places in town. Prices for discs vary from R450 each to R850 each, but there are 2 different sizes; 269mm and 280mm.

    Brands are: Desera
    Surebrake
    Hella

Can anyone confirm the disc size on the 2016 1.5Dci 4x2?

Pads are anywhere between R450 and R700 for the set.

    Brands: A. T. E.
    Bosch
    Hella

    Any recommendations?

    Update:

So I found out that my vehicle has 280mm front discs. I managed to get a set of Brembo discs for R980 and I opted for Ferodo pads (which were pricey, but I prefer quality for safety purposes) for R900.

Renault quoted me R2700 for the discs with no pads. A trip to Midas cost me just over R1800 for discs and pads.

    Usually a 7mm.

No, it is not in any standard set of Allen keys.

    Midas stocks them.

Thanks, yes it was a 7. Also, the place to bleed the brakes was a 9 spanner. Very odd sizes from Renault.

Anyway, I managed to get the new discs and pads on with help from my neighbour. Click image for larger version.

Is it normal for the new pads and discs to give off a slight burning like smell for the first while?

I read somewhere that it's normal, but just want to check.
