4 + 4 Guy's introduction.

My wife and I put all our resources into educating the kids. Now that they are grown, we are re-discovering our love of nature, adventure and the desire to explore the beautiful country we live in.

Our current 4 + 4 is a Nissan 1400 bakkie and a Honda Ballade sedan. On a recent camping trip to the Cederberg, (first time ever) we couldn’t use just one vehicle. The Honda could take the people, not the equipment. The bakkie could handle the equipment not the people. So 4 + 4 it was.
She - in the Honda, me - in the Bakkie.

“Never again” she said.

At least we had walkie-talkies, the expense of which she had questioned thoroughly: “Do we really need all these Gadgets, Babe?

Reminds me of the scorpion and the scorpion torch, - also the leopard and the herd of cows - but those are stories for another day.

So we bit the bullet, bought a car strong enough to carry her and her luggage - with space for me in the same vehicle.

Question: What do we (4x4 community) call our cars?

Anyway – we have one.

I joined this community to learn, share some laughs and also to share some memories as well as our experiences. Hopefully we will have some support and when I’m not a newbie anymore, I will pass some knowledge on to other people who also share a sense of community and a love for nature.
