For his business model, its all about getting clicks.
Seems that the most clicks come from the land cruiser crowd.

Cruiser content bore me to tears, so I wont be watching any of that.

I actually watched a bit of his Range Rover episodes, and I never ever watch his stuff before that. Just shows how the content brings different viewers I guess.

ya no look, I watched a bit of it, but not a lot, maybe 1/4 of each episode and then switched off. He knows how to drag stuff out!

He goes about some topics just to long, talking as if the viewers are idiots and then getting really worked up in the process?

He buys his own vehicles yes, but I'd say 90% of the accessories gets sponsored and there's nothing wrong with that, it's part of the business model, airtime for the equipment suppliers.

Take the 105 he built here in SA and then had to sell because of covid, he bought that Cruiser for R150k if I remember and sold it for R450k or something.
Mechanically that Cruiser was basically completely rebuilt using Terrain Tamer equipment, everything was sponsored, all parts, labour, even the oils.

So by buying, modding and selling vehicles I'm sure he makes nice money, apart from having to keep the clicks and views ticking over, I'm sure that's part of the reason why he does so many builds.

His green Troopy for example, in our money let's say he bought it new for R800k and that things accessories was worth at least a further R500 - R600k, if I remember the Alucab conversion alone is like R100k, ARB bumpers, OME suspension including the BP51 shocks etc. etc. So even if he sold that thing for R1 million he already made his money back plus some more to fund his next new vehicle.

A nice life and a nice business model but I doubt it's something which can make him rich.

They were very upset as they could not get out of the sand 2 spoor track and this truck did not even slow down and just rammed them!!

I feel sorry for him. Patreon is the Amway of the internet world. If you are halfway successful on Youtube they come and tell you wonderful stories of untapped riches from all the clicks you can draw. They will do the marketing for you and set it all up you just need content.

Now they have you all your viewers have to subscribe to Patreon for you to access said riches and you have to cross certain signing thresholds to access whatever money you used to get t before Patreon got involved.

He got suckered like so many Internet posters.

To be real, most people here probably have a copy of his book. He is a credible source of information for those venturing out into the big let's buy a 4x4 world. He knows more than most and is prepared to stand by what he says without hiding behind a keyboard.

I have reluctantly followed ASPW on and off since the furore of his Namibia maps with the incorrect GPS coordinates; what fun that was!

He has built a great life, has built great vehicles and done great trips but bliksem he is irritating with an irritating delivery.
