Also been looking for a couple of weeks now. That seem interesting, how strong is the magnet when travelling on corrugation?

I have used the cheapies - they go for R80-R100 now, and don't last long and need modifying

these work fairly well when you glue the back section preventing the swivel action.
I use a Samsung Note4 - large and heavy compared to others. opening/clamping action does not last long as the pin pull.

I purchased a Volkano extendable holder from Take a Lot.

Works well, and if your dashboard is flat, the suction cup even mounts to it without the need to stick a plate or such onto the dashboard. You get the magnet type or the one with the normal phone cradle.

Alternatively I bought a holder for my wife that fits into the cup-holder. Although the bendable arm on her phone holder does have a lot more movement in it, it works well for her if she uses it.

Both were between R 200 and R 300 each if I remember correctly.

I use the magnetic disk types. I have a Blackview rugged phone and I very seldom have a situation where the phone drops off the magnet.

If you want the best, buy a RAM mount.

HUTY Mounts, very Similar to RAM mounts sold at Voetspore in Menlyn for a fraction of the RAM mount price.

I would never buy anything other than Smaak. Or probably I would not have to buy another because I have the Smaak!
I have the sticky one that sits on any surface, yes it sits easily on the PS's rough dashboard surface. It''s been I think a year, never moved an inch yet.
R250 bucks well spent, go for it.

    I bought a Huty a few days ago at Voetspore @ R950.

Thus far it did a stirling job.

Thabo if I may ask what phone are you using with the bracket.

I am asking in terms of weight and size.

    Thanks

I travel some dodgy roads when I go fishing /riding bike, and it's never fallen off so far... It's pretty strong... Overall I'm happy woth it...
