At least when they get home, they can tell their mates (over a Guinness) how they survived the riots and looting in SA.

Players are not making the decisions about the tour going on. It's way above that. SARU will loose 10s of mill if the tour is binned.

Sheesh what a piss poor second half, B&I Lions were on the ropes in the 1st. Boks decided to move away from the physical stuff and started kicking the ball away, never attempting to play any sort of rugby.

I did feel the ref was coaching the Boks a bit and let the Lions get away with certain calls, but the Boks deserved to loose. Leave this kicking garbage and play some rugby.

The team selection was also a bit off, Kwagga was out of his depth.

It was clear we lacked game time. We just couldnt keep it together. And the heavy pitch worked in their favour as well. We got outplayed - finish and klaar.

Tough to play a game of this intensity with lack of match practice. The scrum, our traditional strength was totally negated by the BIL. Need a very fast recovery or the 3rd game will be of academic interest only. is there any chance Duane can play next week, suspect that without him we won't be able to compete?

I learnt two things in yesterdays game. Defensive play does not always win games and we didn't have a quality captain who could adapt and inspire on field.

Default British and Irish Lions 2021

The boks did damn good considering the preparation they had.

Their first test match in 2 years, had to do Zoom training session, come together in bits and pieces the week leading up to the the test.

    Can only get better.

Was wondering about that tip tackle - weird that there was no card.

Also Nick Mallet's comments about the 3 tries that were not allowed. Comments about the one offside call - Mallett said that any part of the player behind was enough. A string of decisions in a period of the match took momentum away.

Agree that boks have had little match prep. The RWC also but look how much time it took to gel the team to a winning unit, losing even to the AB team in the rounds.

The shambles in RSA over covid and the economy, amongst other factors, has wrecked the country and this filtering down to all aspects of life - sport included.

Default British and Irish Lions 2021

If we only had one of the 50/50 calls falling our way it could have been a different story.

I think we did damn good and the Lions were lucky with the 50/50 calls.

We cross their goal line 3 times they could only managed to cross ours once.

The momentum totally changed when our entire front row got changed right after half time, this tactic worked in the past but maybe it's time to go back to the drawing board and mix the 6 players up a bit rather than looking at them as the starting and finishing front rows.

In a game like this if you see the 50-50 calls is not going your way, then you should also stop with the 50-50 kicks, those kicks have worked for us in the past and they can work damn well, but not in a game like this where you know all the 50-50 calls is going against you.

I'm by no means a Kolisi fan, he had better games and he had better periods in his career so far and I believe he's not quite as sharp at this stage, but he still does good hard work up front, he didn't do anything wrong, but also didn't really stand out for doing anything well.

I was watching channel having UK commentators. They were surprised about the lifting tackle - no card and also that one denied try for player being in front. I do not know what South African commentators were saying but if UK blokes did come to a different result than TMO and referee in the field....

On the denied try: "It was given on the field. TMO can only turn the decision in such case on conclusive evidence. Such was missing." Those were roughly the words.
