Default International travel in Level 1?

Does anyone have more details, has this been gazetted yet?

The last I have is International travel resumes 1 Oct, but I don't know which countries etc, etc.

    Anyone have some references?

Must be difficult to decide right now with infection rates soaring again in several countries including the UK.
    Nothing published as yet.

Haven't seen the gazette but beware, you will be required to present a negative test result no older than 72h upon re-entry. So depending on where you go this may be a challenge.

Our planned trip to Zimbabwe over December had a glimmer of hope, but when I saw this requirement that glimmer faded somewhat.

Thanks. I read about the 72 hour negative test, but have heard nothing since.

It is quite an effective way of saying "the borders are open", and effectively closing them for practical purposes.

    True.

If you want to see something even more confusing looking at Zambia's "opening".

Saudi has the same rule about having a negative test result, but only gives you 48 hrs.
So, when leaving SA, if you are luck enough to get the test results within 24 hrs, one hopes you arrive in Riyadh within the 48 hrs...It's really tight !

The -ve test required to enter SA costs R7000 in Saudi and theres still so much confusion about what documentation is required. Will a -ve result on a govt app be enough, is a written doc required?

The unclever people at arrivals might not be open to applying their minds to the situation and accepting a digital result.

Soon after the bunfight between SAA and Nigeria a few years ago when Nigerians were not allowed to board without Yellow Fever Vaccination cards (Yellow Fever is endemic, so vaccination is unnecessary for Nigerians) one could buy a Yellow Fever card outside the terminal in Lagos, so it won't be long before Covid certificates are available...

There is even confusion around those who could travel before with permits, couriers, truck drivers etc wether this negative covid test will apply to them too now on level 1or will they carry on as usual like they did from level 5 till 2

    maybe yes, maybe no.

We are now in SEPTEMBER. October is coming, November is coming and so on. We already know that things change.

The rules for December will probably not be the same rules as the ones for October.

Bulawayo is what .. 10 hours from Joburg ? Not to hard to decide to go there a few days before the time?

So chill and see what time brings.

They keep on saying that you will have to go into quarantine at own cost if you arrive without a 72hour old negative test.

Is this in one of the government quarantine facilities or can a person quarantine, at your own expense, somewhere isolated of your own choice?
