Default The new 2020 Pajero Sport

    Hi,
I see that the new 2020 Pajero Sport is out and about in SA. Has any body had a close look at what is new?

The Exceed model seems to be missing a lot of what is offered overseas,
where is the "standard towba"r on the 4x4 model?

    No:
    Forward Collision Mitigation [FCM]
Blind Spot Warning [BSW]* & Lane Change Assist [LCA]*
    Adaptive Cruise Control [ACC]^
    Multi Around Monitor*
    Auto Dusk Sensing Headlamps*
    Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System [UMS]*
    Rear Cross Traffic Alert [RCTA]*

    Am I missing what's advertised ?

    So what do you get for the :2.4 MIVEC 4x2 A/T EXCEED ( R679 995 )
    as opposed to the
    2.4 MIVEC 4x4 A/T ( R659 995 )?
Sunroof and automatic rear door and remote Connectivity to an APP....

Don't get me wrong...I really like the new look, most of the OZ reviews rate it better than the new Fortuner....
so now I must save up and buy the 4x4 Mivec for only R660,000 and a towbar !!

Was out at a Mitsubishi dealership this morning sorting an issue with my PS, but did not see the new one around.

With regards to options not being available on SA vs Overseas spec models - this happens all over the show. None of the cars I have owned were specced the same in SA as their overseas counterpart. There were always bits missing even when it was the same trim level.

Not sure why they bother with sunroof anyway.Rather add some value items than a sunroof. It takes away from your headroom. Not great for taller people.Other than that SA is always short changed on extras.Must be due to cost added to units
The new one is really really nice.I like the touchscreen and the new dials for the aircon..It looks like it has a bit more ground clearance too..

Werner can you elaborate on your issue with your vehicle?

Hi guys, I went to Mits East Rand to enquire about the rear wind visors for my 2017 PS (new shape). While I was there I had a look at the PS Exceed. Looks nice but asked for a trade in value for mine with 40 000 km and extras bull bar, tow bar, front pdc, tinted windows, front wind visors. oem headlights and bonnet protectors. I had the PS since July last year and paid under 500k with the extras. In excellent condition. They offered me 370k. With the new PS Exceed selling for 680k, I think I'll keep my PS after all it has the same mechanics just the cometics are different.

There is very little extra in the brand new one that would warrant that big difference in pay in...Thats not a bad trade considering you paid under 500k and its 3 years old

Did some off-roading this past weekend and 3/4 of the way up the mountain I got a big orange warning "Park Brake Service Required". It also sounded like the e-Park brake, which I usually hate, was continually trying to switch the hand brake on and off. After a few moments it stopped and driving slowly forward I could feel that the park brake was not on.

Continued on with the trip, had to get down the mountain, just being very aware of the possibility that the park brake may unexpectedly engage at any time. Had no further issues till I reached home.

At the dealership they found no issues and simply reset the computer. No issues anymore - in fact the park break operation feels smoother now than it was before the reset.

See, this is why the IT people always ask you if you have turned it off and on again (a.k.a. a reset) before they start diagnosing problems.

It’s the same story with the Outlander. Lots of spec missing compared to overseas models.

My 2016 Hilux was stolen last Thursday.

I loved the Lux, and immediately started making plans to replace her. So on Friday I went down to the Centurion Licensing Office to get a temporary driver's license, as mine went with the Lux.

On my way back home I thought let me pop in at the Mitsibishi dealership to have a look at the Triton. It just wasn't quite my cup of tea. I also had quite a good look at the PS, and must say that I fell in love with it. So after having the idea mauling in my head the whole weekend I decided today to fill out an application for the new PS. I figured in the 18 odd months of owning the Lux, I didn't really utilise the tub anyways as it was fitted with the most annoying electronic armidillo cover which broke a after a couple of month's of use.

Storage on the tub with the armidillo was mediocre to say the least.

I also bought a Conqueror Comfort a couple of weeks ago for my planned trip to the NC over December, and I believe the PS is probably on of the best choices for towing a 4x4 trailer through the Namakwa Eco 4x4 route anyways.

At this stage I plan to at least fit some undercarriage protection for my December trip, but leave it mostly stock standard.

Any one else actually drove the new PS? My parents owns the 2018 Triton and use it as a towing vehicle for their Conqueror Comfort with no issues thus far, although they mostly stuck to the beaten track up to now.

I am anxiously awaiting the outcome of my insurance claim and finance application.

I will keep you guys posted, hopefully I will have my PS within the next week or so.

    Regards,

    Mike

    Hi,
Does the 2020 PJS ( South Africa) come with the new big android screen as per the adverts overseas??
And if it doesn't, is one able to upgrade to it?

Has anyone with a 2017 to 2019 PJS upgraded theirs ,and if so with what make/model unit.
