I am VERY interested in this as on my LC76 I am looking for more responsiveness off the line AND a slower throttle response on rocky terrain off road.

I do not tow or carry heavy loads often.

I was looking at a UNICHIP from KSD with an off road map etc. - quoted nearly R30k because when you touch the power or torque figures on the LC you need to replace the clutch with the heavy duty one (R20k for the clutch)

As I do not have R30k laying around this looks like a perfect solution!

Hi guyscorrect me if I'm wrong but this will only work for drive by wire accelerators. So it won't work for those cars with cable accelerators?

I am also interested, but would like to hear from someone with either an Everest or a Ranger 3.2 Auto that installed it. As I am a bit concerned about whether or not the gearbox will handle this

Why? Power and torque figures are not altered so if the gearbox can handle the standard power at WOT it will make no difference with a throttle controller. It just brings the power on earlier. I have ordered one for my LC76 and will report back

Ordered for R1,899 and delivered free of charge in 2 days.

Installed. Took it for a run and here are my observations.

This is a fine tuning device so it is a nice option to be able to adjust your throttle response to taste. It all works as it says on the box (and the funny worded Chinese translated instruction manual).

I suspect this device will be better suited to an automatic vehicle. In a manual, for example, race mode is virtually useless as it makes the throttle so sensitive / jerky that it is difficult to match the clutch take-up when pulling away. In an auto you can just put your foot down and go so it makes more sense.

I have not tried it off road but I do suspect that this will work fantastically well in rocky terrain as on ECO mode you can tune 'down' the throttle severely, I would say around 10% of normal throttle in ECO-9. So just for that alone I do still think it is worth it for me as the standard throttle is VERY jerky over rocks.

I think for someone with and auto box and someone looking for a 'crawl mode' this will be a great little device!

On the auto's the difference is superb.

Friend of mine installed one in his 3.2 6sp auto 2x4 Ranger, as impressed as I am. He did notice in the A1 mode, when using the speed control on a trip from Pretoria to Cape Town, the autobox does do more down and up shits.

i have not tried mine on the PS with the speed control selected, will play and see.

I agree that the translated instruction leaflet is like reading those brain teaser sentences, you actually under stand the sentence composed of garbled words.......I found it quite amusing.

Hmmm, maybe I should invest in one then... Say a video now on how easy it is to install. Should help with the towing I guess, making the Everest a bit more responsive when you need to overtake while towing the camp trailer.

But then, if I understand correctly, this thing only changes the values from your pedal input right? So it will not have any affect on your cruise control? On torque Pro with the ODBII reader, I can read the throttle percentage when I put my foot on the pedal, but not when the Everest is driving on cruise control.

Has somebody tested this? I tend to use my cruise control a lot.

I have a Pajero Sport with the iDrive unit. The cruise control works normal.

I tested my PS Auto 4X4 yesterday with the speed control engaged, works normal.

We went Jacaranda site seeing yesterday and had a lot of pull aways on steep inclines. I did the same route last year and both times with the AC on, Yesterday's drive was a delight, the pull aways was effortless.

Thanks to Bostokkelos. I have decided to order a Power + last week as well. In town my setting is A1.5 and on highway driving A1.7.

With the manual gearbox on my Triton higher than A1.7 it becomes to sensitive for my liking.

Yes it was a great video showing on road, sand and then rocky terrain. I still need to do the test myself for Off-road but have not had the change as yet.

I have the iDrive unit set at U5 mode. In the middle of the "FAST" setting.

I have done 3 fill ups since install. One mainly town driving, one mixed 50:50 town/open road and one open road. Fuel consumption is better by almost 1 km/l.

The open road stint was aircon ON and my son driving. No placebo there

Don't ask me how it is possible....
