Default Fortuner 2017 suspension improvement help

    Hello almal, Hello to all;

I have the 2017 2.8 fortuner 4x4. All standard OEM suspension.

I have balanced tyres the other day and noticed that the fortuner has bottomed out.

Meaning I could see marks that the rubbers touched and thus bottomed out.

Not once did I feel or noticed bottoming out while towing the caravan.

The weight on the tow ball is around 150kg with some more 50kg to 150kg of goods in the back of the fortuner.

So max around 300kg for the back of the fortuner.

    What are my options??

    1. I donít want to make ride comfort worse or bumpier when unlaiden as this is 95% of the drive time.
    2. I will consider a suspension lift if it will solve my weight problem and maintain or beter ride comfort when unlaiden.
    3. I wil also consider "airbag helpers" in the back.
    4. cost will always be a factor but will spend more if it is justifiable (gainful objective)

I am counting on the experience of forum members to please advise on options

Ek dank jul vooruit vir die waardevolle insette
    My thanks in advance

I drive a Prado TX model (without the air suspension) and fitted the Airbag helpers in the rear for exactly the same reason. Problem sorted.

I hook up my trailer, and when I check my tires when I leave for holiday, I inflate the air helpers as well. The rest of the time they are inflated to minimum.

Just ordered air helpers for my Fortuner, experience too much sag at the back with caravan hooked. Will install next week, diy system , Firestone,

Done it on my Hilux, works good , but feels a bit bumpy without load, different type air helpers.

Thus hope the Fortuner will run ok.

The air helpers will be a cost effective solution.

What are you towing. And what did you actually measure it, now ill intent meant.
