The Devil is in the details, as they say. Most of the rivets won't even be visible unless you get under it, but for those who do get under, they will be an added treat.

I reckon it will go very nicely indeed.

Busy positioning the firewall to check bonnet height..... carbs are gonna be a problem so it looks like Iíll have to go for the Weber 38 DGES conversion and hide it in the spare wheel on the bonnet...

Rob (Hagu13) popped in and confirmed what Johnno said about my ďopen driveĒ mounts being too flimsy.....need a separate ďmid plateĒ for the gearbox.

Once again, donít you just hate it when your ďfriendsĒ put stupid ideas in your head .....(the worst bit is that you know theyíre right)

I look forward to seeing how you hid the Weber and secured the spare wheel.

I have once did a Weber conversion on a 3.5 Rover V8. Milled the stock intake to get rid of the carb runners. Installed an adaptor plate which I tapped and screwed to the manifold.

    Easy conversion

    NO! A thousand times, NO!
    Philistine.

Put power bulges in your bonnet if you have to, but keep it original.
    Something like this...

Besides, how will you see over a spare wheel on the bonnet with your arse nearly on the ground?
You need to hang the spare in front like the SAS pink Panthers used to, in place of a bumper...

Weber also make side drafts for a lower profile...might be time to think about fuel injection, but then you'd need an ECU and MAF.

That on an MGB V8 manifold, maybe.

or, just relocate the SUs, but those manifolds had a rep for being even more restrictive on an already partially strangled set-up.

    Mmmm, injection....

    a cool GBP 3 995.00.....

Pity Lake Pipes aren't legal, but that diameter looks like it will handle a monster motor.
