    Default My next project......

Iíve been looking at the Long nose for about 3 years and have decided that itís too easy.....
Then I saw this photoshopped image of a Lightweight that had been slammed- a Low riderClick image for larger version.

This is gonna be a long project. All I have are the LDV400 axels and some LANDY bits.....
Gonna have to decide on a motor... my spare BMW318i or rebuild my 2.6 side valve with the Weslake 3lt head.
Then I have to make the chassis & the Lightweight body panel.....

I bought a LDV400 a couple of years ago for a beer truck project that didnít happen so I stripped it for the axles (dropped I Beam)

I wanted the suicide suspension to sit behind the axle but the connecting rods in the way....
My first though was to reverse the axle, but that chucks the Ackerman out (caster can be sorted by tilting the axel backwards). Click image for larger version.

Spring behind would keep everything tight and allow the radius arms to be included into the spring mounts but lifeís not that easy

    Nice progress there, Gary.
I prefer the new idea better than the old one.

Well than a standard 4.6 out of a P38 with a Edelbrock manifold and Holley will do the job.
