No more v8 from Toyota

    Default No more v8 from Toyota

    See they stop all development on v8 and now v6. The way to go.

    Strange decision.

    TDV6s in general don't have a fantastic reputation.

    - Ford/Peugeot : broken cranks and oil pumps
    - Renault/Nissan : turbo, EGR, cat

    Mercedes however seem to have got it right with the OM642.
    BMW didn't even bother to try.
    VM Motori also seems to have done OK.
    Ford's Power Stroke is virtually unknown.
    Cummins doesn't.

    The BMw 6 cylinder diesels are probably the best in their range ,they are straight 6 not V6 though but they are brilliant

    For now the v8 in the 70 series is safe.
