So I had a dream list of mods for Zerubabel then a deal came along where I can have most of my mods for a fraction of the cost.

    Still a 2008 Patrol 4.8
    Less kms on
    Turbo proper one!
    Lift
    Bullbar
    Winch
    Steel Rear bumber.
    Rock sliders
    Roof rack
    Side canopy.

    Zerubabel 2 is born.

    So why not keep both?

One for daily use and as SWAMBO's runaround and to keep the new one's mileage low by only using it for camping holidays and off-road trips.

One Patrol is never enough, and its not difficult to make a case for 2 or 3 Patrols to simultaneously live on your property!

    For instance:
    1. A NA 4.8
    2. A Turbo 4.5 or 4.8
    3. A red and gold Y60 4.2 TD or perhaps a Y61 3.0 CRD

Just saying. And asking the question for a friend.....

Uncle Hannes just make sure about the Turbo conversion. As tough as the 4.8 are they needed to be build for turbo`s.
I know of two 4.8`s that failed with bolt on turbo setups.
Contact Thys I think he is one of the few that is able to build reliable 4.8 turbo`s. Ask his opinion on the one you buy.

    Koop hom.

Off topic. I know Thys for a couple of years. Actually from his V8 building days.
Guys that built high power normally aspirated enjins tend to understand enjins way better than the bolt on brigade.

I know Thys strip the 4.8' s down and build them to turbo spec from the bottom up.

    Enjoy Hannes

So the long term plan is to get a daily and move this one to holidays and playing.

For the first year it will be my daily.

Yes the fuel hurts but the smile soothes that.

A 4.8 with a turbo must be quite something! I was wondering why you were asking IanT so many questions about his one

Would love to but that would be a waste for me.

If I were to get another vehicle for me it would be a work bakkie. Something light on fuel and practical, the Patrol is not that.
