Default Winch on 2008 Hilux V6

When fitting a winch on a 2008 Hilux V6, must the front suspencion be upgraded? Mods on the Hilux is 80 lt fuel tank. (Total 160 lt,) 40 lt water tank.

Most, if not all, say yes.
My simple check would be to do a before and after height check.
Are you doing a synthetic rope or cable? Cable is way heavier naturally (better though and depending on application to be used for). If you can, donít do spacers and do a proper upgrade.

Plan to do a Namibia and Cape west cost with the Explorer in tow. So the synthetic rope is a must. Match safer and lighter. Most of the trips will be solo, that is the reason for the winch. What "upgrade" do you suggest?

If it wasnít for lockdown Iíd consider joining you. Iím in GP. Yah, furthest north we can go is Pretoria...lol
Iím no expert... Fox do awesome suspension upgrades though very pricey. Old Man Emu most swear by and also on the pricey side (not as much as Fox). Checkout Tough Dog also. Also, Iíve recently read on one of the other threads that Toyota do a ďheavy dutyĒ coil spring also, maybe something to checkout (I'll check for it as a fellow member on this forum even listed the part number).
Iíd say pop in to a Safari Centre kinda place and checkout options. Iím certain theyíll advise better and for specific needs. Only concern is any place pushing what they sell.
