    Default Who did shock spacers

Hi guys want to know if you contacted Ford about any warranty issues by doing this. My local Ford dealer says its going to void my warranty.
Anyone know if this is correct or who I can speak to to find out.

Also want to know. As it is I have a fromt suspension issue on a brand new Ranger. Going in for its first service in 2000km then it must be sorted. So I am hesitant to do spacers but really need some extra height.

I have no idea how a Ford is put together but to my knowledge a shock spacer will provide absolute no lift.

In fact, it may limit the downward travel under compression and may cause damage.

    The dealer is correct.

As far as I know its actually one of those coil over shock things. So both gets lifted together.

Then it is a coil spacer (not a shock spacer)

If they are "lifted together", this means the front has McPherson struts. Is this the case?

So it is neither a shock spacer nor a coil spacer, but a strut spacer.

The wheels are simply pushed out by the spacer thickness. No suspension travel changes take place and the ride is not affected. Camber needs adjusting.

Limiting factors on a mild lift, say 20mm, are the drive shaft angles and drop link length.

It would make sense if it voids your suspension warranty. It puts more strain on everything involved - shock, coil, upper and lower control arms - but particularly the shock and lower bush.

A 20mm spacer will give a 40mm+ lift because of geometry. Placing the CV joints at a greater angle.

I would say it all depends on your dealer and what they are willing to do or not do for you.

We have more than ten Rangers in our fleet, six of them are running strut spacers up front to level the vehicles out with no ill effect on any of the suspension components.

We have has turbo, inter-cooler, and gearbox failures in the fleet and our declined any of the warranty claims. These claims have not directed at the font suspension but at other major components.

I know most people complain about their dealers but there are some good once out there, you just need to find them!

PS: The dealership that I use actually fitted the strut spacers on two of the vehicles for me before I took delivery........

They are actually talking about a strut spacer, it goes ontop of the coil/spring assembly

I had 23mm spacers (mounted to the top of the coil), as a leveling kit, on my 2014 Ranger. Fitted them at 42k km, and never had suspension issues, and my dealership never gave me issues.

Sold the vehicle in 2019 with 108k km, with the original shocks and coils still going strong
