He said that the bolts can be used twice , and there is no need to do the guides unless you want to refurbish the entire heads. He says it has only happened twice in his lifetime. But these motors dont break or crack easily.
Dont bolts stretch to spec when torqued down?

According to the l322 workshop manual , the bolts may be used twice.

And this is the first time that I will be doing this.

I would feel better using new bolts
Always think: Could this be sarcasm?

yeah, not worth risking an engine when the cost of new bolts is low.

Managed to source a jaguar mechanic in port elizabeth that works on these types of v8 engines. He works from home.Total cost of the job 7k. I just need to supply my own spare parts and material ( oil filters and oil )

He'll send it to the engineering, if there is engineering work to be done at my cost.

He said that the bolts can be used twice , and there is no need to do the guides unless you want to refurbish the entire heads. He says it has only happened twice in his lifetime. But these motors dont break or crack easily.

Thanks , again for all the feedback guys.
Please, for your own sanity and safety, get new bolts, its a small expense but a potentially large saving..

And there was a bulletin somewhere on the earlier Jag V8 SC motors having the supercharger coolant pump cabled incorrectly from factory, pump ran in reverse... but its old memories, still worth a google search though..

This is a OEM fitment sir, landrover doesnt have their own engines. You get jaguar , ford Lincoln, bmw and Chevy engines in different brand landrover and also the year model.

That was the first thing a check. But I get sufficient flow from the aux waterpump. This was also listed of the main defects on the range rovers l320 and l322 on rover.uk.com
