    Default Intra-provincial travel

As I understand it, intra-provincial travel for leisure purpose is (or about to be) permitted.
I also believe that some of the camping spots, nature reserves, parks are open to overnight visitors.
Anyone know which of the KZN parks, camping sites ... are opening, and if so, when?

Oom Peter. It was gazetted yesterday. We will be at Mac Nicols from tomorrow (for work though). I saw on facebook that Rocky Bay is open and some other places in the Midlands.

    Not sure about parks though

The volumes of people with trailers and overland rigs coming through Harties every weekend seems to imply zero restrictions between GP and NW.

I suppose maybe the cops in KZN are more dilligent?

So it's official? Can we travel between provinces now? Is there a link to the announcement somewhere?

Intra provincial means within a province.

    Inter provincial means between provinces.

Here’s when South Africa will open for international travel again – the best and worst case scenarios

    - For domestic travel (travel within the respective country), the opening window is set between August 2020 and mid-February 2021;
    - For international travel (to and from the respective country), the opening window is set between November 2020 and May 2021.

Ek het dit gelees, kommerwekkend dat sulke tipe navorsing die lig sien en in beleid gebruik word.

I've been commuting between Harties / Brits / Johannesburg / Pretoria regularly since the start of lockdown before moving to Pta. There have been roadblocks, and I've been stopped on occasion. Being stopped at roadblocks between Jhb and Brits or Pta and Brits are the exception rather than the rule. Also, depending on how well one knows the backroads, one can avoid any roadblocks entirely. Seriaas...

Other spots between GP and NW seem to more "paraat". I've been stopped at the permanent roadblocks between Potch and Jhb, as well as Rustenburg and Magaliesberg.

However, there is virtually no control between Jhb / Pretoria and Harties / Brits

Yep. And no control north of Harties all the way to Limpopo.

Ditto no control on the N4 between Harties and Rustenburg.

So anybody who wants to go to the far reaches of northern and eastern North West: go for it.

The issue is that the cops know they will not be able to curb travel of mine-workers etc. in the Platinum belt
They will simply come off second best......

There has been on the few times I've been through.

Yes camping for leisure is open only within your own province. We had a great camping trip this past long weekend.

I can confirm there is authority 'presence' crossing the border into Volksrust on the N11 from KZN.

I can also confirm they didn't stop a KZN registered vehicle in camping/touring configuration whilst crossing on 2 separate days of the weekend
