These guys did the DPF delete, decat and remap on my Q7:

Hello everyone...
My Touareg went in for minor repairs to the front bumper early July. Went to collect it yesterday and the diesel pre-glow light came on. Repair shop did a quick scan on their diagnostic tablet (generic, not VCDS) and I phoned the error codes through to Tim.
Looks like the DPF is clogged. Was hoping to do the auto regen on the way home but the vehicle is in limp mode...
Anyway, I'll take her to Tim on Monday for a service and to see if he can force a regen through the VCDS.
If he can't... I have to choose between replacing the DPF ($$) or a DPF remove and delete.
Doing some googling today, I came across these guys: Veloce Performance (http://plugandplaychip.co.za) - they appear to be specialists in DPF delete / remove. I like that they provide a lot of background / contextual info about the process on their website.
I emailed them to find out costs and their feedback was:
"Tyrone,
Thank you for your enquiry.
DPF Remove & Delete R5500.00
DPF Remove & Delete + Tuning (ECU Remap) R7500.00
I would recommend ECU Remap to upgrade performance as the chips do not work well on these engines.
No need for a new exhaust pipe.
Regards"
Claimed performance improvement through remap:
Standard: 176kw 550nm
Tuned: 213kw 620nm
Anyone here dealt with them before?
Any opinions on the ECU remap for a Treg (2011 V6 Tdi).
Thanks guys!
Tyrone

no issues. It gets driven.... let call it enthusiastically, every day of its life and does a lot of towing. Car is now on 180k km so I have done about 70k km since the remap
Never skimp on servicing, never drive it hard when cold, always let it cool down after driven hard.

So quotes received:
Vagspeccentre: R12,730 (unsure whether this includes a remap of the ECU - will update once I know)
Veloce Performance: R7,500
To force a regen on vcds you have to tell the ecu that you have replaced the dpf. Thereafter you can do a regen and then as a final assurance validate the calculated and measured grams in the dpf, by going to the measuring blocks.
My son had issues with his V12 Q7 and opted to "clean" and service the dpfs worked well for 9 months and then the vehicle went in to limp mode if you bullied her. Did a dpf delete and mild software update as the gearbox on the V12 is on limits as to what power it can take and he is more than happy with the result. Not sure where he had it done.

Its already a big powerful car in stock form so management limits power in lower gears to protect the drivetrain so you dont feel the increase in power as much as you would in smaller car.
The engine was definitely more responsive and it feels faster in the taller gears but I have no data to back that up.

So Tim reset the readings that triggered the DPF light and all back to normal. It seems that continuous stop/start, as would happen in a repair shop, can lead to erroneous readings.
Also did the 150K service and replaced the fuel pump belt, tensioner and pulley.
Happy Treg again.
I may not do the DPF delete now then. No point in scratching where it's not itchy. I'll wait until the DPF is properly blocked.

If you in the West Rand area or close by, I would recommend Eurospeed performance tuning.
Elton Smith is the guy to speak to. Just google them. Also check out their Facebook page.
Exactly the same work as Veloce which also quoted me R7500.
Eurospeed quoted me R7000. I'm going with Elton seeing that it is just up the road from me.
By the way, mine is the 180kw/550nm Q7.
Although vehicle to vehicle will vary, the average power gain is about 27% and torque 22% translating to 224kw/670nm. Pretty decent in my opinion.

I did a downpipe and DPF delete on a Q7 like yours yesterday Yuben👍🏻 (pic attached)
The stock downpipe is very restrictive, only 55mm! The new DP and DPF section is all 63mm which matches the stock exhaust diameter.
Also did a DPF delete on a V6 Amarok the other day where we did a before and after dyno run to see how much the DPF hindered performance. 22kW increase just with the DPF removed (the vehicle already had software done).
2012 Bi Turbo 4Motion, on Bilsteins with a 50mm suspension lift and 20mm body lift. 76mm pipe and software.
