    Default Good flower season ahead

    Hi

With the excellent rainfall the past few weeks, I assume that the flowers are going to be exceptional this year. I heard Mike from Namakwa Toere speaking on the radio this morning and he said that the amount of rain this year can be compared to 2006.

I just hope and pray that some of the camping grounds and other accommodation are going to be allowed to open up by next month. It will be very sad to miss the coming flower season.

Members who are living in the different flower areas must please give us feedback and place photos if they get the chance to investigate their surrounding areas.

    Regards

Any time. The cops don't give a damn. I drive into Gauteng every week. The GP number plates outnumber the NW plates on weekends.

I hear there are some road blocks in the N. Cape.
    Officially no crossing of borders

Flowers in the Western Cape are good - Langebaan - Biedouw - we are seeing whole fields now not just patches.

Still a bit early for Nieuwoudtville area etc

Flower line is your best bet for updates.

    Hi Paul
Will we see some flowers near Cederberg area.
    Never been near that area.
I want to do some work in Cape Tow over 3 days but need to take a few days to get back to P.E.
Thinking of a detour back home via CederBerg.

No guarantees with flowers! Too much hinges on the weather! It is the W.Cape winter rain season and it is raining!

They have people on the ground in the main areas.

Just got back from a long weekend on the West Coast. Went into West Coast NP on Friday, the warmest/sunniest day of the weekend. Even in the Postberg section the flower display was disappointing. I got the impression that this season the flowers will be at their best in about 2 weeks time. The flowers on the roadsides around Saldanha, Vredenberg, Veldrift were a bit more impressive than WCNP.

Family members have just come from the Bidouw valley. Excellent flowers.
