Yes. Locally, Romer is known to be the benchmark. Now Dometic is producing this. Well designed, also roto-molded, practical configurations, wide choice of sizes, range of accessories, very well-known brand and back up.

They have also acquired KAMPA - well known European camping equipment company.

Or am I just behind the times?

It will be very interesting to try one of them out and put it up against a Romer, I wonder how their pricing will be?
I must say one of the top features for me about the Romer is that I'm able to sit on it with my 125 kg frame without worrying that it will dent or break, so it's quite clever of Dometic to make this a feature.

One thing I still wish for in a Romer and I see Dometic also doesn't have this is a smaller box, a 20 to 25l, a one handed box which you can carry on your own.

I donít think so. I bought one last week, used it for the weekend and was disappointed.

ice did not hold a day... I took it back and will get something else. Even the cheap Spar cooler worked better..

Interesting, what size did you buy and what was the price? Do you have experience with Romer?

Problem with the Rohmer is everyone has one and at "bring your chop and dop " parties, especially our hunting club guys there's a row of identical green boxes all with fat guys sitting on them

The other day my friend spotted someone else's name on the bottom of his green Romer, they figured out that they must have swopped on a fishing trip which was March last year.
