Default New Jimny to be discontinued???

Hi there, I have heard a rumour here in OFS that the new Jimny will be discontinued (or rather not sold anymore) due to the high pricing, and the fact that this model does not sell well at all.
    Any truth in that?

Got - due to the above - a fantastic offer for "Seuntjie" which I obviously refused. Love my wife very much, but there is a better chance of getting her than my Jimny!!

Jimny is being discontinued in Europe due to emission issues, not sure how it will spill over to us?

I read an article about all new Suzukiís going the hybrid route and sadly the JIMNY is not part of that. So guess weíll have to wait for official release.

LOL since we still seem to be building coal fired power sations I dont htink the currrent govt is that concerned about emissions control. They'd far rather put a tax on exhaust emission

Have not heard the rumors. They are selling like hotcakes...Suzuki cannot keep up with demand....even despite the recent price increase.

I don't follow car prices, but I was stunned a few years ago when I bought the Gypsy and found out I couldn't get a Polo for that price......

Mayby Lada Niva can replace Jimny. I saw an article that it is being made again. If you buy one just remember to join Boy Scouts to get the car smell correct

Lada is part of the Renault group since 2017. Maybe worth to dig a bit deeper what engines etc are used.

I still believe Suzuki really cocked up with this Jimny in terms of supply.
I was dead keen on getting myself one, but who on earth is willing to sit on a waiting list for a year for a new car?? Hell no.
And now, because of this, it seems the resale values are over inflated because of this unavailability.

    Or am I wrong?

You may be wrong. I wanted a Jimny, phoned around and located one on a Suzuki dealer floor with the exact colour and spec I wanted and did the deal with the dealer. It took a week and a half from start to finish.

I am a new Jimny owner as of last Friday. No waiting list.
