Have you tried you local Plumblink? They surely will be able to order for you?

Or why just not solder the joint?

That looks like a Tri Clover fitting. Does it have to be copper? Stainless steel Tri Clover fittings are easily available - from NDE, Gerhard Unger, Foodspec, etc.

I may have to resort to SS but that then falls outside my soldering abilities and equipment and creates other problems. I really want copper as my current kettle will be SS but the final kettle will be copper and I want the entire assembly to be copper.

    Thanks

I honestly doubt you are going to find a copper one, distillique is all sold out for probably 2 months now, nobody else has, even if their website seems to show it as being "in stock".
Get a stainless one for under R100, get a local shop to braise it for you and be done with it, if you even can find a copper one what you probably will get knocked for it will be more than the stainless steel and braising route.

I saw one the other day for R180.00 I cant remember where. I just remember that I thought to myself,Thats damn cheap as the brass would cost that much..Would brass work?.Why not use a 2 inch conex male iron coupler ? But it would be brass.

I made one for myself .
But its brass and 1 1/4 inch.

Yip, this will probably be the route I follow. I can work out the dimensions.

I simply cannot believe that none of these supply companies have not contracted a local business to manufacture. As stated previously, any one on the forum that has a lathe and time on their hands could make money.

Can't believe that we need to import these.

You cant make money on a manual lathe making these things unless you sell them for big dollars. A piece of 60mm brass is probably R200 for a 100mm piece. If you are a hacker like me it will take an hour to machine that.
The only way you would make money is if you can get them forged or stamped or cast because out of billit 90 percent is being machined away

More like R 320 for a 100mm piece of copper 50 diameter. Most of this ends up as swarf. Brass is easy to machine but copper is difficult. I am currently machining copper parts for distilling parrots for my son in law and copper is way more difficult to cut cleanly and get a good finish than most other materials. Agree with Plunger that unless you are able to charge big bucks, not worth the effort.

Hi Does it take a nut over it like a union ? and this piece you need has a washer between two faces that the nut then tightens onto? Possibly I can help as I import from a German plumbing company that has a vast range of connectors for plumbing you can PM me.

You can't get SS Ferrules either now "they are flying off the shelves", NDE no stock. Looking at other places now.

There is a global shortage. The world is distilling.

I have all the dimensions to machine one except for the flange thickness and if there is a taper to the flange to assist locking. Could someone please get their vernier caliper out and take some measurements for me?

I found some detailed drawings so I am good to go thanks.

I need it to clamp. I readily need to remove this clamp to fill the kettle and then, to after a run, to wash it out.

Why does it need to clamp.? Why could it not screw. ?Is this to hold a two inch copper pipe to the stainless keg
