Klink vir my soos: "Meneer jou brieke moet ook vervang word" wat ek op elke diens vertel was.

Take it to a proper turbo shop for a 2nd opinion. Sounds a bit early for what is a sound motor

A turbo can only die due to:

    - excessive EGT (chipping, over fuelling)
    - lack of lubrication (no oil, old oil)
    - lack of air filtration (worn impeller blades, worn seals shafts and bearings)

It is an air pump driven by exhaust gas. So if it dies, you must determine the cause as it will happen again. And again.

    Or manufacturing fault.

Toyota wanted to manufacture their own turbos at some stage. Don't know if it ever happened.

Some also have (radiator) coolant lines.

Compromised air filters can let particles by that abrade or break the blades, but it is usually the oil lines in and / or that get coked and choke the flow.

Ball bearing turbos are better, but usually can't be rebuilt.

My 2 cents. Take it for another check elsewhere. If you are in Alberton pass by Arnold Venter at Mitsi Tech. You wont get a more honest opinion. I can vouch for that. He turbo/ intercooled my lc pickup and vetted my Prado when I bought it. Never once a hiccup from either.
Unless you got a lemon when you bought it you might have a problem. IE a couple of threads above who had problems very early on. Lets not jump to conclusions. If you thrash it all the time then you will have problems.
A friend work for a company that had a Mazda 2.5 tdi and everybody drove it like it was stolen. Got over 300k and still going strong. I decided to get one as well after that, no that I drive it like above got 230k on it and still going strong. Wont change it in a hurry.
