Default Sua Pans - Kukonje North

Hi, I'm planning a trip to Nxai this month....thinking of a wander around Kukonje on the return leg... has anyone done the area north of Kukonje as indicated in the maps attached??

T4A does not have anything on this area and I made some tracks off Google earth..
If anyone has the GPS logged tracks and is willing to share ,please do

Any info on this area would be greatly appreciated

    regards

    Mike

That area is not so well travelled explaining the absence of tacks on T4A.
On of the reasons is that it is not so attractive with little to no view into the pan and mainly bushveld with cattle farming.
It is however possible to follow the local tracks without to much a risk of getting lost.

The more attractive variant is to keep to the pan (in the dry) and follow roughly the coast line.
This however can also be a bit tricky as the pan does not dry up evenly and some patches remain wet for longer.

Sometimes the escape route comes to late and you end up in "chocolate jelly"

Cool Re: Sua Pans - Kukonje North

Mikealan, my thoughts are that the whole trip is poorly thought out and a waste of time! Stay at home and watch NatGeo Wild and the like - the repeats are great!

Sorry Tron, you can remain parked in Gauteng.... I will send pics of our trip later !!.

Spent a week last month in the delta , up in Khwai ( Sable Alley) and Meno-a-kwena ( Khumaga ) . had an unreal trip with sightings of everything ...was Magic.... had my fill of game viewing so now just a ride trough the bush and look out at some of the less traveled areas !!.

That is if I have fuel !

    Cheers

Last week I met a long convoy of 8 land cruisers in Khumaga entrance from Rasesa. They were doing Makgadikgadi Pans, Nxai Pans, Maun(Scenic Flight) Khwai and Third Bridge. I didnít know we have very enthusiastic local Travellerís like that. They were very excited and in the great mood.
Tron, no watching TV. Next weekend is long weekend and our bags are already packed. So we wonít be watching TV for the foreseeable future, that is if fuel situation is resolved.
