Loving it. It may look like Defender, but the suspension and drivetrain are going to modern, robust units built by the best companies in the world.

Marry that with a reliable BMW diesel and a workhorse body and it is going to be amazing.

Take the best of old world design but give it the new world advantages.

I would have liked a more chiseled, flat bonnet, with square front, the attempted rounded shape looks out of place with the rest of the car.

    Rear doors are lovely.

    Round headlights are completely customisable.

Hope it comes to our shores.

Ha ha. The Defender handbrake is excellent. But you have to know how to operate it

The sad reality is that, although it very much looks like a Defender and might be based on it, it is not a Land Rover Defender, will never ever continue the legacy of a Defender and is made by an unknown and untested manufacturer.

I suspect it would be in the same price range as a real new Defender, so the decision would be a no brainer for me.

Totally agree. No brainer. Grenadier wins hands down.

I love it. On www.cars.co.za they mention that Ineos is aiming at the Fortuner. Everest price bracket. Not sure though...my gut feel is that it would be in the region of R900k.

    Possible UK pricing:

"Similar in size to the latest Mercedes-Benz G-Class and powered by a modular range of six-cylinder BMW diesel and petrol engines, it’s expected to be priced from £40,000 when it hits the market late next year, initially as a five-door station wagon then “soon afterwards” as a four-door pick-up truck. A short-wheelbase car may come after, alongside other versions"

I LOVE this. There was some short clips on instagran of how its built and some sneak peak driving shots. It only revealed suspension bits and wheels etc. no shots of the body. I was expecting a D2 copy from those clips. Maybe its a copy of D2 transmission and electrics on a defender like body. That would shake my piggy bank!

Looks to me like the body shots both in the pictures and video clips are all just digital renderings.

The actual vehicle could turn out to look like Geoff from Top Gear... lets hope it looks as smart as the renderings...

The BMW straight 6 will get a +1000 from me, time will tell if the rest is up to task. Pricing would probably be out of my league anyway...

I have only read about the inline six BMW engines, I have seen a video of the factory regarding the chassis and suspension which is just good old been done stuff on video, nothing overtly remarkable, I note no electronics on the suspension, which is great, what I have not seen is axle information, ie what type etc etc, full floating rear, semi floating rear??

Noted she has swaybars, but no electronics, so is there a swaybar disconnect feature, is it purely mechanical??

Difflocks, any??, electricc, manual mechanical, air, auto??

would love to know more, if you have data or links, please share..
