Love the concept, but unfortunately it looks like a bad Santana copy of a real Land Rover. To busy with small details, odd front end, ugly rear light execution.
Now why did they not just do their chassis (which sounds exelent!), and get IBEX to put a body on it?

Ja, the front is a bit weird but not that bad.

    I love the rear doors.

I also think so but then again the new Defender front isn't great for me either but put a bullbar on it and it will look 100% better.

I doubt that it will be as cheap.

I doubt that Land Rover are having sleepless nights, they don't compete in the same market any more.

Land Rover have reduced the New Defender to a mere over priced family bus, the Grenadier is a durable workhorse.

Land Cruiser 70, Iveco Daily 4x4, some of the small off-road trucks would be it's more direct competitors.

Yeah to me it looks a bit too much like an old Defender. Be that as it may. I am more interested in the mechanicals which sounds fantastic. Also I hope they have better ergonomics than the old Defender!
Rear door design is a huge improvement. Hopefully spare will not be on the door but on a separate carrier.

Awesome car!!!! The first thing that attracted my attention is the long roof and gutters to mount a proper roof rack, the ladder frame suspension and the fact that you can bolt stuff onto it. I am not necessarily brand orientated, to me a car is like a tool eg 13 spanner or binoculars, and this car tick the same boxes as my current Defenders. I need a car to work with, go on Safari, hunting, be able to load deceased buck in the back and wash it out when I feel like it. To me the designer has done excellent market research and has got vision, not like the new disco/defender designer that had no clue what he was doing and was influenced by soccer moms, bean counters and city sneakers. At one stage I thought, once my defenders dies off I would have been forced to only look at 76 Cruisers, but now their is hope again!!

Exactly. This is what the old Defender was that the new one isn't, and the old one would serve as a tool for decades, the New Defender will be a "sell it when it's out of warranty vehicle" and after 10 years it'll be worth nothing because hardly any body will want it, it's what happens to all complex, luxury SUVs.

The Grenadier won't be cheap but you won't be buying status, you'll be buying a tool.

The New Defender is like paying R 1000 for a good quality Chinese t-shirt with an Armani badge on it, the Grenadier would be like paying a R 1000 for a fire retardant overall.

..and looks are irrelevant for a vehicle like that.

In India it'll be competing with this, unfortunately information is scarce, so it's difficult to make a direct comparison, other than price, where the Force looks good.

    They're both expensive but...

An Armani shirt is a status symbol, you're paying for a the badge, a perfectly good shirt that performs the same function without the badge can be bought at a fraction of the cost.

The price of the flame retardant overall lies in it's function, it's ability to allow you to work in a specific environment. An ordinary cheaper overhaul can't perform the same function.

"In a meeting with the Ineos team, they said that three areas needed to be addressed on the Grenadier. These being: Design, Off-Road ability, and Durability and Reliability. For Ineos, these areas went a long way in ensuring the fruition of their goals and ambitions."

I don't think that the TDV6 would have aligned with their design philosophy.
