Question National Luna Weekender - 220V not working (KZN)

    Hi All,

Looking for a referral to have my National Luna Weekender looked at.
The 12V side works fine, but the 220V side does not work
On 220V (OEM cable and using various wall sockets) it starts up, and then shuts down (and repeat...).

Based in Westville/Durban - where can I take it to have it looked at by competent people?

    Cheers,
    Jimny, the force awakens.

Your controller is faulty. Look down to the probe thread. Replacement only way R3500.00. This is a National luna illness. What happen to other brands with Danfoss compressors.

That is a rather unfortunate illness.

Is the controller the panel where one switch on and adjust the temperature?

I thought the Luna's had fused 220V input sockets?

No it sit on the side of the compressor. Google Danfoss bd35 compressor. I think the new company that took over is secop. The controler make the 220 12v and then a 3phase are generated to drive the compressor

Yes, they have a fuse on the 230V socket as well as the 12V socket.

So the question must be asked, has the fuse on the 220V supply been checked?

No harm in checking it anyway, though OP said it does turn on if on 230V but then switches off again.

Mine sometimes does this if both 12V and 220V connected.
If just one connected it works fine
