I agree, this was a thumb suck I did to see if it was photoshopped. At 4m it is likely to not be photoshopped. In any event the elephant was further away which would make him even bigger. I still think that unless photoshopped it is a 4m Elephant.

I have looked at this photo over and over again. I think the ellie is closer, not further. I think the specific ground condition makes it look further. Cover the foreground with a piece of paper and look at it that way, and you may see what I mean.

I agree Peter. The elephant is closer to the camera than the vehicle is to the camera.

That walk is typical Addo leisure stroll. Just donít block them or rush up to them, give them space when you stop. If they then come closer, walking like that, not flapping ears, you should be good. I honestly havenít ever felt threatened by addo elephants, but that doesnít mean something terrible canít happen.

Iím personally more careful/afraid of rhino and buffalo, they lose it within seconds and without warning.

It is. You just have to look at the angle of the shadow of the tusks on the trunk, and the angle of the shadow of the Landy roofrack struts to see the sun is from different angles.

For those advocating the 3 point turn, the 2 point turn is way quicker. to avoid Elephant trouble.

Crank steering hard opposite lock, whack it into reverse and go back as far as you can. You bonnet should now be pointing well enough in the opposite direction that you can skedaddle down the road in the opposite direction.

The 110 is oblique and pointing away from the camera, as evidence by the amount of rear door you can see. The Elly is facing the front of the 110, it simply must be further away. The dead ground hiding the wheels of the 110 is not helping.
