Default Best place in Gauteng to play with my Freelander

    Hi Guys

So, I haven't been offroading for a while now, and recently fitted Grantrek AT3's to the freelander. Needless to say my bum is itching to go play a bit. The big question is where?

I have done Groenkloof, Spookspruit, and Henops. At groenkloof I had a mate go with, and he had a very capable Patrol with recovery gear, so I was not concerned about getting stuck. I still have to get recovery gear, (it's on the list to buy next), but I have done Henops alone, and never worried about getting stuck. Spookspruit was a guided one, so also no issues there. And I missed out on the June brekkie run, as I had some stuff to do at home, which I promised Swambo we would do this past weekend.

    Places I am considering :

    Bass Lake
    Sable Ranch

Also, I would like to at some point go in a bigger group again, maybe we should organize another softroader day or so. I am saying softroader day as I know the guys with fully kitted jeeps and patrols gets bored doing the stuff that our cars can do.

Kungwini is also in Gauteng. You should be able to do most obstacles in your vehicle.

Not sure if this is a forum option, but my wife has recently taken delivery of a Fortuner and wants to know how to use it. As anyone knows this information cannot be passed on from a significant other without rolling pins and frying pans flying.

I am not sure if the guys at gerotech are back up and running, but has the forum ever done something like this for total newbies? I am definitely not looking to damage the vehicle, but some nice controlled off road instruction would be welcome and I know I am not the guy to do it.

As you know, we did Sable yesterday for the Brekkie Run. Two areas there to put it through its paces.

There is Hobby Park on the Woes Rand which has an obstacle area with bypasses in the front and then the trails of varying degrees, catering for all types of vehicles and with numerous braai and picnic areas all around the place.
