Not a bad plan when you are in the drivers seat. Just look at Grace and her Rolls Royces

    Fffff for flip sakes.....

Last week was really cool spending a few days camping. I will find it really challenging not to camp for more than 6 months (again).

Plans will develop as workarounds, no doubt.

To them what is happening north (Zim, Angola) and east (Moz) is exactly what they are aiming for in SA. In a seperate thread I posted in some time back, I predicted, in my view, how I see things panning out. These included further bailouts for SAA, speeding up NHI, EWC, grabbing pension funds, breaking down private business models, etc. C-19 is the perfect catalyst they needed to speed up their strategy and to centralise control over society

Sadly yes, and the population buys into it hook line and sinker. The IRR (Institute of Race Relations) published an excellent document on it in June.

Amazing to see how many high risk activities are allowed without an perceivable economic benefit (church funeral etc)

Would be quieter than Manyane at Pilanesberg on a Friday . Having said that, I’d put up with the noise with pleasure to get out there again...

There are open private campsites. There is a private game farm with bush camping about 18km from my house. I only learned about this last week..... What can be safer than a bush camp with just me, swambo and the doggie? Going to the shops beforehand is way more risky.

Maybe private land owners must start sharing info if they are willing to let people 'wild camp'. Try not to tow the caravan to make it less obvious.

Getting there isn't your problem. Problem is they will still be closed. I heard rumours that sanparks will only open accommodation in Dec.

Unfortunately these days, lots of rumours turn to facts. Like bringing back the alcohol ban..... closing leisure travel.... those were also rumours at some stage.

I think December is a reasonable bet. August- no chance whatsoever.

as well as the Government Gazette:

Section 39 (e) accommodation establishments not formally accredited and licensed, such as private homes for paid leisure accommodation; - are still not allowed to be open. This seems to indicate that hotels, lodges, etc may accept overnight stays from people within their own province.

Section 39 was amended on 12 July 2020

Keeping camping sites closed is a poorly disguised work avoidance scheme. People travel around, work, go to school and use bathrooms all the time. Just sanitise and clean up, that's all!
