Default Honda crv 2.4 auto vs Freelander 2 auto vs pajero 3.2 auto

I need some advice from people with experience. I need to acquire an automatic SUV, my current Xtrail has a manual transmission. Keep in mind my budget is under R200000 therefore choices are limited.

2014 Honda Crv 2.4 auto; I have a Honda Accord 2.4 with 250000km and it runs like new. I know the Honda is a good choice but limited off-road capabilities,

2013/14 Freelander 2 2.2 diesel; I had one previously (2009) and (stupidly) sold it with 260000km and it still ran like new, absolutely loved it, very capable and reliable,

2010/11 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 3.2 gls; I hear only good things about this vehicle, but will have to settle for one with about 250000km on my budget, whereas the Honda and Landy will have about 100000km, or slightly more.

I don't do heavy 4x4 work and the Xtrail is quite capable but having low range will be great and will open up more travel possibilities.

This car will be used for work and back, and weekend getaways. I would like your opinion wrt reliability, longevity, running costs and your experiences.

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

    Freelander without a doubt.

As stated the CRV is fine, but more car like.

If you don't need the extra space of the Pajero, no brainer on the Freelander.

Honda doesn't have low range so only the Freelander and Pajero Sport will do. If you were happy with your previous Freelander go for another one.

Thought it did, Googled now and doesn't look like it. Pajero Sport the only option with low range out of the three then. Grand Vitara does have low range if I am not mistaken.

Yeah Tom , my old man owns a Freelander and he loves it. No low range but it has terrain response which does help somewhat.

All round a very good and reliable vehicle

    Thank you everyone, this helps!

I like the Vitara very much, but the 2.4 auto slightly under powered and very heavy on fuel. Would the V6 Vitara maybe be a better option, seeing as the fuel consumption is probably on par with the 2.4. Are spares readily available for these vehicles?

    Thanks again.

On Autotrader there are a couple of Pajero Sports with less than 150000km on the clock below R200k. Then the Sport is a no brainer.
