Exclamation Missing 4x4 person. Please help.

Claus Schreuder is one of us, and is the foremost 4x4 motorhome builder in the country. He has been missing for over a week now, and was last seen in Thornhill, near Port Elizabeth just over a week ago.

I have been requested by the Shroeder family as well as the Jeffreys Bay and Thornhill Police to issue this missing person update.

The Police are following several leads in the case and have requested that anybody that saw Claus Schroeder or any of the vehicles, particularly the pink motor home between Friday 14 August and Monday 17 August to contact [email protected] or Tanja Schroeder on 079 299 8087 or Inspector Viljoen in Jeffreys Bay on 082 576 2137 or 082 441 8160

Default Still trying to track the red camper but no word yet

    Update.

No news yet. Police are not saying much but are handling it at high level. Still trying to track the movements of the two vehicles especially the pink motorhome.

Randy, This guy is dedicated to his wife & family, and although people do weird things, Clause is quite genuine and straight as an arrow. If he had a problem, it would have come straight out.

As yet, no word, and the family is shattered.

Reads a bit strange - he would not be the 1st guy leaving home to pick some cigarrettes at the next petrol station ...and never return home. Found then by incident a few years later in a "new life"....

Capes this morning nvia IOL website

    Jeffrey's Bay businessman 'disappears'
    27 August 2009, 20:24
    By Staff Writer

Police are still baffled by the disappearance of a well-known Jeffrey's Bay businessman, last seen two weeks ago.

Motorhome builder Claus Schroeder, 50, delivered a modified Hummer to a nearby farm on Friday morning two weeks ago.

He called his wife Tanja shortly before the delivery and planned to meet her in Port Elizabeth that afternoon.

Police spokeswoman Gerba Swart said he was seen getting into a black Golf, not owned by him, but would not give more details.

Schroeder has not been seen since.

Family friend Louisa Lightfoot told the Cape Times on Thursday that Tanja did not want to speak to the media: "She is really battling."

"Tanja can't talk about her feelings. But she is determined to find him," said Lightfoot.

Lets hope the police find answers to:
    Whose black Golf?
    Where's the pink van?
Why's the pink van in the picture anyway?
    Was the Hummer paid cod?
    Other unknown bank accounts?
    ID book/passport?
    Cellphone traceable?
    Border records of neighboring countries?
Because where do you start if there's no record of skelmpies or evidence of foul play.
Wish I could fit my family with satellite radio collars.

Maybe make similar posts on other forums? One way to increase the number of eyes looking out for him or clues as to his whereabouts.

Hi all, Thank you for the interest.
Unfortunately there is no news yet, other than the police have opened a murder docket. Family held a memorial prayer meeting on Friday.

    Regarding Damdan's questions,

    *Whose black Golf?
Don't know. Only person to mention it is the bloke on the farm. (IMHO the trail starts with him).

*Where's the pink van? Why's the pink van in the picture anyway?
Pink van (belongs to Clause) now in police custody. IMHO If Clause was abducted it is likely it was in the pink van or the motorhome. Cant figure why otherwise they would be keen to trace its movements.

    *Was the Hummer paid cod?
Seems the hummer was rented out legitimately

    *Other unknown bank accounts?
Dont know. Guess the polise special investigation unit will look into that.

    *ID book/passport?
Left at home in normal drawer, along with money, credit cards, toiletries, extra clothes, luggage etc etc.

    *Cellphone traceable?
Switched off from 11am on the Friday.

    *Border records of neighboring countries?
Don't know, but passport at home so unlikely to be records.

It seems to me that it will come down to tracing the pink Kombi motorhome or the Hummer.
