Paid for 6 new BF's on the 17 March 2022, now 2 months later i have no tyres and no money back after many promises.

Since then i have paid for and received and had fitted 6 new tyres from HI Q(great service etc, Claremont Branch, Cape Town).

Has anyone any advice for me to get my cash back from Thomas Rundle?
How did you pay? if by credit card immediatly lodge a dispute with your bank to reverse the transaction.

If i cannot use PayPal then i do not buy online, With PayPal you can stop and re-claim transaction moneys. Have done it a couple of times successfully.

Agreed, internationally I agree with using only paypal (amazon is the exception here), locally only credit card via someone like payfast etc. EFT - forget about it and find another supplier

You can initiate a chargeback on any kind of online card payment whether via a debit or credit card. The protection in that regard is the same on either, though historically that wasn’t always the case but it is now. EFT obviously has no protection and why scammers prefer it.

PayPal has shafted me in the past, so it's not foolproof.

Not that many local sites offer Paypal, most have Payfast for CC, EFT etc.

Take all you comms thus far (emails, date of calls, payment confirmations, promises, etc) and print/log these. Take this to the police and log a case of fraud. Police will confirm with bank wrt payments and non-delivery - they will use a Section 205. Sheriff will track him down and serve papers. Takes time, but works. Follow up with police every two weeks or so. Ignore promises until the actual fitment center confirms stock and fitment date. Good luck.

I find his longevity in this game quite admirable........wonder what his next shyster scam will be? As long as there are gullible people (sorry for the guys that got scammed) out there chaps like him will thrive.

The only true remedy in a case like this consist of 2 fundamentals.

    1.) Moerstrip
    2.) Baseball bat.

    Angry Re: tyres.co.za

I am somewhat ashamed to say, but i am the next victim of tyres .co.za
My own fault, website looked good , similar to errols tyres that i have used many times, but ja, now trying to get my 4 x tyres or my 12K back.

Went to the cop station yesterday, got some advise on how to proceed.

    1. Get all my paperwork printed and together, proof of payment, print the page, print all whatsapp and other communications, print proof of order. Make sure to have dates
    2. Sit at home and pen down the whole story with dates and times, they will not take this at the cop station, but you at least have all the info ready and handy when you do the charge / affidavit. Do this when you are calm, maybe have a beer first...

When all my ducks are in a row and ready i can go back to them and they will assist in laying a charge of Fraud.

So this is my homework for the next day or so. Those in the same boat - suggest you do the same. I will not be robbed in broad daylight, well, i have been , but you know what i mean.

    Wink Re: tyres.co.za

About a year and a half ago I ordered 4 x Pirelli Centuratos for my Honda Civic. Paid in about R7.5k or so. Then came the excuses from good ‘ol Thomas. “Give me until Tuesday..no Thursday…no next Tuesday…transport issues. After about 3 weeks, I called him and very politely asked for my money back. I stated that visa can easily step in and get me refunded, but that will probably hurt his business as he will be listed as an errant vendor. Then came the offers…he will refund for 1 tyre, but still deliver all 4! Politely declined. He will refund 2 tyres, but deliver all 4! Good heavens, that rat smelt bad….final offer…three tyres refund, but will deliver all 4! Again politely declined. He eventually refunded the full amount, but as a passing shot, stated that he will deliver all 4 tyres anyway, just to earn my trust back! I could not roll my eyes any further back, giggled a tiny bit, and then said sure, why not? Still waiting for them free tyres to be delivered. I must admit, it was an experience…but one I care not to repeat.
