Yes a risk for us but enough ways we can confirm payment to be comfortable.
We did have an order for delivery of 4 BFG tyres to a PO Box this week and also an order to an address we could not confirm so there will be some of these.

Correct and most Proof of payments can be verified at the bank immediately aswell.

The only option I know that some online stores offer is cash on delivery not eft or credit card payments. That's for good reason because theres insufficient time for an eft or credit card payment to be verified while a courier hangs around and trying to do so would leave the seller open to being scammed.

Even interbank efts sometimes are not immediate and can take hours to reflect.

Also consider all the logistics and manpower needed to facilitate eft and credit card payments upon delivery but verified by the office, the office guy better be ready and waiting the minute the driver arrives or there's going to be lots of thumb twiddling.

The only way it would work is if the driver pitched up with a card machine and the payment was done that way but that's not how it's being done.

Maybe true, but I am not sure of the volume of transactions Thomas does currently. I run an online store as well and we have sent out plenty of items on a POP before the money shows in our account. On the other hand a pay and clear for less than 20k is usually immediate. They take longer when the amounts get bigger.

I can order Debonaires from the app and pay with my Credit Card on a speed point when they arrive on their little scooter. Not sure if this is how tyres.co.za is doing it

I’m another very sad, but ever hopeful client of Thomas Rundle & tyres.co.za
I got taken in by the super slick website which is so user friendly, and the prices are great, plus I really believe in supporting local entrepreneurs & great ideas (which the website is), and there are only 5 star reviews visible (fine print is these reviews are only on his website - and I didn’t bother to double check). Living on a farm I do a lot of online shopping & in nearly 2 decades I’ve never lost a shipment or cash…..until now. Yet I’m ever hopeful that the entrepreneur rises to the challenge & ships my tyres or actions a refund by this Wednesday….after that I’ll have to take it further.

Indeed. If the stuff I was looking for did not say “no stock” I might have ordered something from there, but I will steer clear.

Morning Sarge, yes tyres were delivered and a refund to the value of 1 tyre passed for the inconvenience caused. I trust this makes up for the delay.
