You can give a 99% discount and I doubt anyone will order from you anyway.

So, has everything been resolved? All happy now?

I have no dog in this fight but seeing that this little fracas now plays out in the public domain that is this forum, with 85 000 users, it would be interesting to know.

    * Edit - 81 943 users / members, apologies.

Im sure theres ALOT out there who have been screwed and are unfortunately just sitting quietly, without finding this forum, or any forum to vent their frustrations.

I think our forum members are being sorted by a 'taking from peter to pay paul' scenario to safe face on the public complaint platform here.
But thats just my own personal opinion.

If I ever have to change or get tyres I will never ever use tyres.co.za
I for one think he is only sorting out the guys that complain to save face and get another one to buy from him.
For me this company is screwing people out of their hard earned cash.

Why would anybody use a supplier with a dodgy reputation, if there are other options available?

    Marketing.

Google "tyres online" and they will be the first hit. Also the most basic, but best web address. Great testimonials on their website, slick online order process and boom. For anyone who shops on Takealot, this route makes sense.

Also, there are some things where people will go at lengths to get the best price. Tyres is such an item. They will spend hours online, phoning for quotes etc to save R50 per tyre.

So an easy online process, with good prices to boot = lots of orders.

I just never order online without looking at Google reviews.

Something smells like bs, how do you pay on delivery via eft and they won't complete delivery unless payment has been received.

Does the driver pitch up with your tyres and then wait around at your address for the eft to clear??

Seems like same old same old just using different words, you'll still have to pay upfront and then oh sorry there's been a delay with your tyres... because the expectation when ordering the tyres online will be the same now as before, you expect your tyres to be delivered within a few days so essentially nothing has changed?

Just for clarity Sarge, did you receive your tyres after involving Carte Blanche?

We accept payment on delivery via EFT or Credit Card. EFT payments can be checked. We have complete numerous of theses types of orders in the last few days.

You place the order online. Choose Pay on delivery at checkout.
We deliver and need proof of payment via EFT or Credit card before driver leaves.

Big risk to the supplier, if buyer can't prove payment.

Will he sue the buyer for the loss?

If a buyer EFTs, the bank sends a PoP immediately. If the supplier deems this sufficient (i.e. no need to wait for clearing of funds), then all should be good?
