    Default MTB ratchet set

I am looking for a ratchet set to obviously tighten all the hex bolts on my new mtb.

Every hex bolt states a torque value, so instead of the kit i have on the bike tools, i want to make sure i torque the nuts correctly.

The shops seem empty at the moment, but any suggestions?

    Many thx

I used to go by feel and it worked pretty well. However, with carbon, I decided to buy a proper torque wrench. Got one from CWC, if I remember correctly. To be honest, I haven't really used it much, apart from tightening stem bolts.

Stripping the bolt holes on bottle cage holder or brake caliper hole is no fun, believe me. I bought mine on Chain Reaction Cycles in the UK and someone brought it back for me - one of my best cycling related investments ever. The only things I don't tighten with the torque wrench are pedals.

But as with anything cycling-related, they are expensive. You can probably buy a "normal" one from a hardware shop but make sure it can measure low enough for MTB purposes (as low as 4Nm). The added benefit of cycling-specific torque wrenches is you'll probably get the suitable range of hex and torx sockets that you'll need for working on the bike.

I have a couple of suitable torque wrenches. The latest one I got from Adendorffs.
