I also avoid debit orders. In fact, I try and avoid any contract of any kind.

I have a debit order for insurance, and I have my credit accounts with my bank. Although my CC is a manual payment.

My small debit orders are Afriforum, Netflix, my security company and Solidarity.

I also check my account several times a month and I have SMS notifications set on any deduction.

SOE's and ISPs can go take a jump, I'm never getting into bed with them ever again.

I pay my Tshwane electricity bill manually every month.

Now that this subject came up, I am very guilty of not checking my bank statements, most of the time as I rely on sms notifications from my bank, but under R100 no sms.

I also need to check all my debit orders, I dont even know how many I have

Are you serious? Remind me to never ever deal with you with that attitude.

Why on earth should any person I owe a legitimate debt to have to "Let them worry about you paying" and "Let them run after you rather". I take my financial commitments serious so I want them to have complete confidence that their bill will be settled every month, on time.

I review my bank statements and if there are problems I take it up with them and if that fails I just reverse the debit order - not that I have ever had to resort to this.
