Default Gravel road Van Zylsrus to Askam

    Hi guys

Anybody out there can advise on the state of the gravel road between Vanzylsrus and Askam? Along the Kuruman river. Is it hellishly corrugated??

    Many thanks

The answer you get today and what you get when you actually drive will more likely than not be vastly different. So I would say expect bad corrugations for at least 50% of the way.

I travel this road or part of it daily. From Van Zylsrus for about 80km the road has been graded a few weeks ago.Road is still in a reasonable condition with mild corrugations. The last 50 km to Askham is in poor condition with bad corrogations and rocks and loose gravel. This section hasn't been graded for a few months. The condition of the road improves a few km's before Askham.

Thanks Moskam, maybe i will survive it! Since i have a preference to gravel roads on my travels i have had to contend with missing parts on the cruiser - including 2 headlights, an aerial and countless rivets on number plates and screws on indicator and brake lights!! Anyway she is a lovely 2002 105 diesel cruiser
