Default TD5 ECU fuse issue. Help

Hi folks. I am trying to trace why my headlights are not working, and inadvertantly pulled the engine ECU fuse while replacing the fuse for the brake lights.

Engine was running at the time. I know, I know...stupid me.

I have replaced the fuse but the vehicle wont run. Wont turn over.

I have tried locking, unlocking the car to reset the immobiliser....no luck.

Is there some sort of reset process that has to be followed?

    It is a 2004 TD5 110.

Panic over. I opened a new pack of fuses and replaced them all. Problem solved. But all the fuses are testing OK with a multi meter. Off to the bin they go. Will remain a mystery.

Hi. So. I traced power. It came to the on / off switch and went into the loom on a blue. But when the blue wire arrived at the headlight switch it is dead. This i cannot understand. It has nowhere else to go, except into the loom and out again. Except....I think the ecu....

So I crossed a wire from the blue that left the on off switch, and carried it across to the blue that fed the control switch (dims/brights etc)

Now everything works as designed. Except that when I switch my engine off my lights stay on.

But I am a happy bunny. Go far, see far.

I will clean all the ECU contacts when I can get some contact cleaner.

Is this a problem you have had?

Had the same issue but turned out to be a connector in the switch which was worn down. Pretty easy to open and clean out.
